A young family who went missing from their home in Essex, sparking a nationwide appeal to find them, have been found safe and well in Torquay. Cheryl Wilkins, 31, and her children Dylan, four, and Leo, two, had gone missing from their home on Canvey Island, Essex a week ago,.

There had been sightings of them at railway stations in Essex and the Home Counties before police received reports that they were on a train from Paddington to Penzance last Friday. Supt Nick Morris of Essex Police said they were 'really concerned' about the family's welfare and were worried they would not be able to support themselves properly.
